🔐 Verification Methods

📱 Mobile Network:

  • 18+ only: Users enter their mobile number, receive a one-time passcode (OTP), and consent to share a confirmation that they are 18+ with your business. This is the fastest age check available with a coverage of approximately 76 million UK users across major MNOs.
  • 18+ and user data: Users enter their mobile number, receive an OTP, and input their full name, date of birth, and address. OneID® checks this data against MNO records. Upon a successful match, users consent to share it with your business.

🏦 UK Banks:

  • Users log in to their bank account and authorise the sharing of their age data. It can verify around 50 million UK users and it provides our highest GPG45 confidence level of age assurance.

🌍 International eIDs

  • Users login to their preferred eID partner and consent to share their age data with your business.

💼 OneID Wallet

  • OneID stores user data fro previous verifications so that users can verify their age and/or personal details with a tap only. Enables fast, reusable verification, perfect for services with frequent returning users.
  • OneID® securely stores user data from previous verifications, allowing users to verify any personal details with just a tap. Ideal for services with frequent returning users.

1. Multi-Method Flow

User ExperienceHow it works

Users are presented with a choice of available verification methods at the start of their journey. This can increase conversion by letting users select the option that suits them best.

2. Fallback Method Flow

The fallback method flow allows the user to choose a different verification method if the first verification method fails or is not available.

User ExperienceHow it works

If the user's first chosen method fails (e.g., couldn't use their mobile network or missing document), they're automatically offered an alternative.
